In Solidarity Against Unjust Detention
Early this week Y was arrested on the street in Athens and brought to Amygdaleza detention centre.
Under the governments racist orders of clearing the streets of undocumented migrants, those who are already in complicated living situations find themselves being taken from society and imprisoned.
The conditions in the detention centre are inhumane. We are fighting his case to be released and it comes at a pretty high cost.
We are gathering money to cover legal costs to assist Y in his asylum procedure, as well as object the arrest at the police station and in court. Given that Y is not provided with adequate food and drinking water in detention, contributions will go towards this as well.
